Voting on smartphones

qwsyzkmimrfcqi415gulLast week, in the midst of elections, I saw an interesting article on Gizmodo that immediately reminded me of Dave Eggers’s The Circle. The site argues for and against voting on your phone, just as the Wise Men of the Circle were advocating for. In the end, the article says that while voting on smartphones makes sense and would be a ton easier, there aren’t enough protocols and security measures today that would make it completely safe reliable.

In the last paragraph, the author Darren Orf says, “Mobile voting will continue to be a slow-moving innovation because we simply can’t get it wrong.” This is wholeheartedly true, and something that the Circle were not as worried about as they should have probably been.
